THE CELEBRATION Continues: Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc celebration is about keeping our culture, values , morals, ancestry and heritage alive through praise and thanksgiving (with family and friends both at home and abroad). Our cause is to support charitable organizations that give aide to women in crisis, advocating for women, underserved communities and help with recovery through the creation of economic and social programs; to support amateur sports teams from Jamaica W.I, that compete in the United States and abroad.
SAFE HORIZON
Founded May 26, 1978, Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim services agency. Each year, they empower more than 250,000 survivors of crime and abuse across New York City to find safety, hope and healing. They provide safety planning, emergency shelter, legal services, mental health treatments, phone and web chat-based counseling, and innovative programming to uniquely engage and support survivors in crisis.
They are proud to partner with New York City communities and many partner providers to help survivors and their children on their journeys from crisis to confidence. The Crisis Centre also offers short-term shelter to battered women.
MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITIES
Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations in society. MSC began in 1978 as a home for children with disabilities on the outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica, and has expanded to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. The majority of programs are dedicated to the residential care of children and adults with a range of developmental and physical disabilities. MSC also cares for children affected by HIV in Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. MSC Jamaica manages a home for young mothers in crisis so that they have a place to transition safely into motherhood. The vision for each apostolate is to create a loving and caring environment to aid in the physical, mental, and spiritual development of more than 600 residents worldwide. https://www.mustardseed.com/
