HAPPY 63rd ANNIVERSARY JAMAICA

JIFI~NYC ~ birth out of Covid-19 and in its 4th year the Foundation has managed to award grants to grantees working in the areas of education, underserved communities, Women Shelter, and amateur youth athletes from Jamaica.
Each recipient organization demonstrated strong alignment with the Foundation’s mission to expand access to opportunity and provide assistance and aid to those who are less fortunate.
This year, the Foundation proudly supported partner organizations that are creating lasting impact in their communities.
Thanks to our supporters, we were able to fund organizations whose work reached domestically here in the New York/ Metropolis area and in Jamaica.
Together with our beneficiary partners, we’re building stronger, more equitable communities.

Safe Horizon is the largest victim service organization in the country. Every year, 250,000 people seek safety through our services. Clients come to us following experiences of physical violence, sexual violence, community violence, emotional abuse, and exploitation. Often they have experienced multiple forms of harm, and for many, it was made worse by an institution that was supposed to protect them.

TEAM JAMAICA BICKLE, INC
TJB is the leading organization in sports, providing support services for Caribbean athletes, particularly Jamaicans who compete at the annual Penn Relays Carnival, which is held at the University of Pennsylvania, (UPENN) in Philadelphia, PA. We are a not-for-profit corporation based in New York State; formed in 1994 and later designated a 501(c)(3) organization.
TJB’s mission is embodied in the motto, ‘Our Athletes, Our Ambassadors’. TJB’s services extend to a delegation of approximately six hundred & fifty (650) students and coaches from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent & The Grenadines Guyana and Grenada.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL (Kingston Chapter)

Being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness. It’s 1.4 million caring men and women serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.

UNION OF JAMAICA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (UJAA, USA)
The Union of Jamaican Alumni Association (USA) is a non-profit umbrella organization of Alumni Associations of Jamaican educational institutions. The member associations are comprised of primary, secondary and tertiary intuitions from Jamaica along with several nonprofits organizations whose focus is on education.
Based in New York, it was created to unify the activities of all associations dedicated to the improvement of educational opportunities for all students in Jamaica and those who have immigrated to the USA.

Win is the largest provider of family shelter and supportive housing in New York City.

Win transforms the lives of New York City homeless families by providing holistic solutions of safe housing, critical services, and ground-breaking programs they need to succeed on their own– so these families can regain their independence and their children can look forward to a brighter future.

MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITIES
Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations in society. MSC began in1978 in the heart of Mona Common, near Kingston, Jamaica, Mustard Seed Communities emerged as a place of care for the most vulnerable in particular abandoned children with disabilities. Today over 440 Jamaican individuals with disabilities, children affected by HIV, and teen mothers with their infants receive life-giving support from Mustard Seed Communities. .

Woman Inc. is committed to strengthening the social and economic position of Jamaican women and girls through legislative advocacy, raising public awareness through education, and providing accessible support services.

Founder & Chief Patient Advocate
Karen (she/her), an experienced patient advocate, had her life saved by a clinical trial after being diagnosed with Stage IV Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Karen fought through multiple obstacles to enter this trial, and her story has been shared with Essence, Health, People magazines and The Today Show.

Based in Kingston, Jamaica, The Rose Town Foundation assist in creating opportunities for residents of the Rose Town community to improve the quality of their lives through active participation in development programs that enhance their built environment, socio-economic status and community health.
